Fine artist Kristina Stevens is a figurative artist. (Her
subject matter is the human figure). She is highly versed
in anatomy and the techniques of the old Master's. Stevens
greatest influences are giants such as Titian, Annibale Caracci,
Rembrandt, Prud'hon, Velazquez and Da Vinci.
In her work, Stevens wishes to carry on the traditions and
high standards set by the old Master's. In particular, Stevens
seeks to balance technique against expressiveness. Her goal
is to create technically sound artwork with loose, rhythmical
linework.
This portfolio at hand is a collection
of sketches, drawings, and paintings done between 2003-2008.
Some pieces were done as a part of my training - under the
tutelage of Rebecca Alzofon, Founder of the Academic Figure
Institute. Others were done in private studios and open drawing
sessions around the Bay Area. I hope you will enjoy a sampling
of my work!
